What’s New, April 2026

WALK THE WALK
The Tailor, Australia

The Uluru-Kata Tjuta Lodge Walk in Australia’s desert heart is a new experience from The Tailor partner, The Tasmanian Walking Company. The four-day walk is shorter and gentler than their celebrated Signature Walk, but no less immersive. It is led by expert guides and includes cultural workshops with Traditional Owners. Guests stay within the National Park, at Desert Gardens Hotel (Yulara) and the off-grid Uluru–Kata Tjuta Lodge, with views of Uluru, spa treatments and a plunge tank to cool off after a day’s walking. This is a rare chance to sleep, walk and learn within one of the most sacred landscapes on Earth.

OWNER-HOSTED HEAVEN
Ahipara, New Zealand

New Zealand has many global citizens who return after successful careers abroad to build their dream home. Friends of Ahipara Basia and Gerald Mackenzie, are a case in point and open their beautiful home Atatu exclusively to select travellers. Tucked away in the Nelson region of South Island (great for beaches and hiking), the beautiful house offers spectacular views over rolling hills and vineyards, as well as comforts including a swimming pool and sauna. Sip wine by the outdoor fireplace with sophisticated locals and leave more as friends than clients.

SAIL AWAY
Sticky Rice Travel, Borneo

If you’re set on complete escape, Sticky Rice Travel recommends an eight-day expedition aboard 56-foot sailing catamaran Mawali. Destination: Layang Layang, 160 nautical miles northwest of Kota Kinabalu, a remote atoll that rises from the deep, with strictly limited access and incredibly low dive traffic. Below the surface, dramatic sea walls plunge into deep blue water alive with open ocean animals; hammerhead shark season, March–May, is one of the most impressive times to visit.

GREAT TASTE
Banyan, India

There’s a new top table in New Delhi and Banyan recommends booking immediately if you’re in town. Within the elegant Humayun’s Tomb Museum complex, Nisaba is the newest restaurant from acclaimed chef Manish Mehrotra (his previous project, Indian Accent, is one of the top restaurants in India). With impeccable service, a light-filled dining room and leafy surroundings, the vibe is relaxed yet sophisticated and the menu draws on traditional regional flavours, reinterpreting them in contemporary style.

ESCAPE THE CITY
ITEM, Türkiye

On the leafy hillside of Çamlıca, on Istanbul’s Asian side, ITEM loves new boutique hotel Arbor Istanbul for travellers seeking a tranquil experience outside the city. Once a retreat for Istanbul’s aristocracy, the quiet residential neighbourhood has sweeping views over the city skyline, while still being within driving distance of the main sights. Blending classic elegance with contemporary comfort, the calm interiors and revolving art collection add to the refined, relaxed atmosphere. After a day spent at local sights such as Beylerbeyi Palace and Kadıköy market, head back to Arbor for handmade pasta and enjoy the view from its elegant restaurant.

HIDDEN TREASURE
PLAN-IT Morocco, Morocco

Tucked within the vibrant lanes of Marrakech’s historic Jewish quarter, The Mellah is a stylish new boutique hideaway that’s quickly become a Plan-it Morocco favourite. This freshly opened riad blends bold design with traditional craftsmanship, creating a space that feels authentic yet playful: think colourful interiors, handcrafted details, and a laid-back rooftop terrace perfect for sunset cocktails above the Medina. Just steps from Bahia Palace and the souks, The Mellah offers guests heritage, creativity and warm Moroccan hospitality in a refreshingly modern way.

COAST ALONG
Galavanta, Colombia

Escape to Colombia’s wild northern Pacific coast with Galavanta. Hidden away in Bahía Solano, where the rainforest meets the ocean, Black Sands Lodge is ideal for travellers craving adventure without sacrificing comfort. The lodge sits by an exclusive 600-meter black-sand beach, with just 12 suites all backed by lush jungle and with direct access to the sea. Witness humpback whale migrations from late July-September, help to release sea turtles, trek to hidden waterfalls, spot native birds and frogs, or fish at one of the world's last pristine frontiers, all in a region teeming with biodiversity and vibrant local culture.

PURE SHORE
Enigma, Peru

Enigma is excited to announce a stunning new eco-luxury hideaway coming to Peru’s northern coast, with its soft opening in June: Inkaterra Cabo Blanco. Overlooking the Pacific, the hotel blends seamlessly with the surrounding landscape, all natural materials, airy spaces and an understated aesthetic, ensuring that the ocean takes the spotlight; the setting, after all, is the greatest luxury of all. With just 13 ocean-view suites, each with its own private terrace and plunge pool, this is set to be beach life at its most refined and comfortable.

IN THE BEGINNING…
Glove, Argentina | Chile

Following the death of Pope Francis last year, Glove has launched a new experience taking guests to some of the significant sites of his childhood and youth. The tour traces Jorge Bergoglio’s early life through Flores, the Buenos Aires neighbourhood that shaped him, from the basilica where he was baptised to the confessional where he first felt his calling, the streets where he grew up, and the home where it all began. A quietly moving journey through an authentic corner of the city, tracing the roots of a remarkable, humble man.

WINE OF THE TIMES
Lares, Uruguay

Following the trend of award‑winning Bodega Garzón and Francis Mallmann, a number of boutique wineries have recently opened in eastern Uruguay. The ‘oceanic wines’ — grown close to the coast in the cool sea breezes — they produce are fast becoming popular favourites. Highlights in the region include Las Espinas at Bodega Bouza (one of this season’s standout restaurants), Bodega Las Garzas (a perfect cycling outing from José Ignacio), and the colonial-era Sierra Oriental with its scenic hill hikes. Each offers superb wines and unforgettable experiences.
