ITEM: The Only Way To Türkiye

Where to start in one of the most cultural and historically significant countries in the world? Distilling Türkiye riches into a meaningful trip requires the savvy of experts who are born to the land, who understand it’s past, present and people. That’s why we’ve brought ITEM into the By Georgie portfolio. Because to make the most of Türkiye, you must engage with its guardians.

Their tailored itineraries present Istanbul and Cappaddocia in a way we’ve never seen. Ditto their Aegean sailing adventures, where clients can explore pristine coastline in traditional gulet boats. But it’s perhaps the South East that excites the most, where ITEM offers unprecedented access to live excavations at ancient archeological sites. History lovers will swoon.

When to go…

Türkiye has a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. High season in Türkiye runs from June through August, during which time you can expect hot, dry days and larger crowds. It’s a particularly wonderful time to be on the coast, either at the beach or cruising on a gulet. May and September are the shoulder season months and considered by many as the ideal time to go, with great weather and fewer crowds. April and October are also wonderful, as the weather is still very pleasant (ideal for active travel) and things are quieter. November through March is the low season, with cooler weather and rain (or even snow) in some regions. While those winter months are generally less popular, destinations like Istanbul are always exciting.

Spring: March - May
Summer: June - September
Autumn: October - November

Billur Kaytaz and Sule Uzun

Speak to Billur and Sule about Türkiye and you’re rather quickly hit with a sense of being in good company. Best friends and a formidable working pair, they speak of their homeland with the wide-eyed joy of adventurers discovering its history, culture and food for the first time. And yet, they’ve been curating transformative itineraries for nearly 30 years. We love that they only work with hotels, guides and craftspeople that they’ve experienced personally. It all channels the same core aspiration: that you leave Türkiye loving it as much as they do.
