Through the eyes of passionate Dominicans, Bonvidó aims to showcase the real ‘local’ feel of the Dominican Republic. They work with ‘local heroes’ in every region to find, create and develop unique experiences sure to ignite guests’ senses. It is their belief that luxury is different for everyone, and as their country's slogan clearly states: "The Dominican Republic has it all."

Thoughtfully curated experiences focus on the people and how their personalities bring the Dominican spirit to life. Rum tastings, cigar rolling and dancing to the rhythm of merengue or bachata are a few Bonvidó favourites. Sergio Taveras

Born on Quisqueya – the indigenous Taíno name for the Dominican Republic – Bonvidó’s founder, Sergio Taveras, has had a long and varied career in hospitality. A hotelier since the age of 15, Sergio has worked across Europe and the Middle East, learning from the most illustrious names in the industry. Armed with all that experience, Sergio returned home, determined to change the perception of the Dominican Republic as a package holiday destination. Through Bonvidó, travellers can uncover the secrets of his island home, from its lush forests and verdant mountains, to its hidden beaches, colonial heritage and marine biospheres.
