When to go…

Dry season: December - March
Sunny days and lower humidity across much of the country. The best time to visit the Caribbean coast. Blue skies over the Andes. Ideal weather for beach days, outdoor activities and exploring cities.
Green season: April - June
Bright, fresh mornings with short tropical showers in the afternoons. Landscapes are especially green, waterfalls are at their fullest, and cities remain very enjoyable for cultural visits.
“Veranillo” Dry season: July - August
Excellent conditions throughout the country. Light rains in the Andes. Warmer and more humid on the Caribbean coast but still good for beach escapes. Humpback whales gather along the Pacific coast near Bahía Solano, and Caño Cristales comes alive with vivid colour.
Rainy season: October - November
More consistent rainfall, usually in brief bursts rather than all-day storms. The countryside is lush and vibrant, and visitor numbers are lower. The Caribbean coast remains warm year-round, though occasional showers can occur.
